Open Source

Since the emergence of Java and PHP we can find a growing number of open source products we can use free of charge. For nearly every commercial software product there is at least one open source alternative we can use.

The possibility to save money (avoiding the need to pay software licenses and using the open source product for free instead) and at the same time be capable of changing the software to meet our needs in a better way (introducing changes within the source code) set the open source alternative as a seriouce option to explore for every business whether it is a small-medium one or a big enterprise.

Using an open source product isn't always the best alternative. Taking a decision isn't trivial. Based on our experience we can start assisting you with exploring your needs and identifying your requirements and based on all data provide you with our recommendation on whether to move forward with a specific open source product or take one step backward and explore one of the available commercial alternatives.

Once the decision was taken and you chose to move forward with one of the open source products we can assist you saving money by providing you with a supportive consulting service. Please note that if you have strong technical background you can find all required guidelines for free (on the web). In addition, for many of the available open source products you might find relevant courses available for free at www.abelski.com.

The various available open source code projects are grouped into the following categories:

Blog Publishing System

Many blogs focus on a a specific professional topic while others function as a more personal online diary. The blogs have many benefits for every business. To learn more about these business benefits we recommend you to check the 'Business Blogs' free course at abelski.
